Did you know that the surface of the Moon is not perfectly round? In fact, all of the craters and other terrain make for a unique effect called Baily’s Beads when the Moon passes over the Sun during an eclipse. The sunlight illuminates these features, and as totality approaches, these little Beads disappear one by one. They only last about 3-5 seconds, so I took hundreds of photos at a high frame rate and combined my favorites.
